Obituary Condolences

Anthony (Tony) Garese Nov 27, 1918 - July 19, 2012 Resident of Pleasanton Tony was survived by his wife Evelyn of 63 years and by his daughter Diane, son-in-law Dave, grandsons Brian, Mike, great-grandchildren Logan, Taylor, Alyssa, and Jonathon. Born in Oakland to Stephano and Clara Garese near 49th and Manila and attended Tech High. Served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII, came home to date and marry Evelyn Rasore on June 4, 1949. Tony worked at, and later owned the Oakland Floral Depot at 19th and Telegraph Ave in Oakland for 50 years before retiring. They raised their daughter Diane and entertained many friends and family in their Oakland hills home playing cards, bowling at College Bowl on the Columbo Club team. His favorite teams were the Oakland Raiders and A's. Tony enjoyed many dinners and events with Evelyn, family and friends at the East Bay Italian clubs, Columbo, Liguire, and Fratellanza. We will miss Tony, Dad, Nono, but will have great memories of the times we all shared together. Evelyn passed away July 23rd so they could be together again. A memorial service will be held for both at St. Joan of Arc Church 2601 San Ramon Valley Boulevard San Ramon, CA 925- 830-0600, on Aug 4th at 2 PM. A reception will follow in the multipurpose room at the church. The family requests donations to the Veterans Livermore Hospice program.
