Al was a kind, loving, generous, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and father in law.
Al was born in Bellingham WA. January 15, 1922 and grew up on a farm. In his teen years, his family moved to Vancouver WA., where he met Rose Marie Burger. Al served his country in WWII aboard the USS Enterprise as a Navy Aviation Ordnance man 2nd class,receiving 30 battle stars. Upon returning home he went to University of Washington receiving a degree in Psychology. He married Rose Marie January 14th1945; they were married 64 years until her passing in January 22nd, 2009. Al Rosie had 4 children Curtis Larsen, who passed January 22nd, 1998, Richard Larsen, Pamela Nelson / Bill, and Deborah Getty / Doug.
Al's 1st love was his family, taking them camping, fishing, boating, bowling and golfing. He supported them by working at Boeing, and then Chevron in Seattle WA. In 1970 he was transferred to Concord, CA where he continued to work for Chevron until his retirement.
Residing in Martinez, Al pursued his love of gardening, and bowling at Paddock Bowl. Al loved music and was an accomplished organist, saxophonist, and accordion player.
Al had 4 grandchildren, Erika Larsen, Christopher Larsen, Michelle Getty, Renee Getty, and 2 great grandchildren Jeffrey Coleman, and Layne Sabine.
Al was loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Private services were held, per Al's request.
