Anthony Frank Nunes
Resident of Briones Valley
Anthony Frank Nunes, 54, passed away suddenly Sunday, February 23rd.
He was born in Concord, CA on May 18th, 1959 to Frank and Eleanor Nunes and raised on his family's ranch in Martinez. Tony graduated from Alhambra High School in 1977 and received his Associated Degree from San Jose State.
Tony completed Stanford's paramedic program and carried on the family tradition of becoming a fire fighter. He was a reserve
with Contra Costa County and worked for Piedmont Fire for 7 before his 28 years of service with Berkeley Fire Department.
Tony was a pilot, pilot instructor, private contractor, water rescue swimmer, sailor, S.W.A.T medic, musician and guitarist, amateur mechanic, 'recycler," rancher, gardener, father, brother, son, uncle, brother-in-law, friend and loved by all.
He is remembered forever by his parents, Frank and Eleanor, his brothers Frank, Larry (Shawntelle) Ed his sister Theresa Taylor (Matt), his ex-wife Sarah Daniel and his children Antonia (Taylor) and Thomas, and many nieces and nephews. Tony is now reunited with his brother John.
A vigil will be held from 6 PM. to 7 PM. on Thursday Feb. 27th and visitations will begin the 27th, 28th and March 1st from 1 PM. to 8 PM. at Connolly and Taylor, 4000 Alhambra Ave, in Martinez. Celebration of life information to follow.
