The life of Anthony Frank Nunes, 54, will be celebrated this coming Sunday, March 9th.
He was born in Concord, Ca on May 18th, 1959 to Frank and Eleanor Nunes and raised on his family's ranch in Martinez. Tony graduated from Alhambra High School in 1977 and had already begun his career in the fire service.
A veteran fire fighter and paramedic for over 35 years, Tony started as a reserve fire fighter with Contra Costa County and worked for Piedmont Fire for 7 years before his 28 years of service with the Berkeley Fire Department.
Tony was a pilot, pilot instructor, private contractor, water rescue swimmer, sailor, S.W.A.T medic, musician and guitarist, amateur mechanic, recycler, rancher, gardener, father, brother, son, uncle, brother-in-law, father-in-law, friend, and loved forever by all. He is now reunited with brother John.
Family, friends, fire fighters, and all who would like to join in the celebration of Tony's life are welcomed to join us on March 9th at the Haas Pavilion at U.C. Berkeley. Please wear your favorite Spring colors this is a celebration. Services will begin promptly at 12 o'clock noon and will be followed by a reception at the Faculty Club (also on campus).
