Resident of Concord
Arthur J. Stephens passed after a valiant, 10 year battle with C.O.P.D.. He died as he lived his life, never giving up in spite of a poor prognosis.
Arthur was born in Naylor, MO. and moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1936. He attended Bakersfield High and then served with the U.S. Navy from 1952- 1956. He then married Anna, his soul mate, in 1961. The birth of their only son, Chris, came 5 years later in 1966. During this time he became employed by PG&E, where he served his customers for the next 35 years. Always a hard worker with a plan, he simultaneously bought and operated a ranch in Northern California. Arthur was a member of the Elks, the Moose, and the Druids. He was very fond of the Druids where he met and became friends with a variety of people. He enjoyed watching Bocce Ball and learning all about wildlife.

He is also survived by his special niece Dona Gaddis-Wolf (Bruce); Sister and Sisters-in-law, Eva Bebout, Carmen Gaddis, Mary Mendez, and Delores Staley(Jerry) and Molly Ortega.
