Donald was born in South Sioux, Nebraska on July 26, 1924 to Bertha and Francis O. Hash but spent most of his youth in Sutherland, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert, sisters Margie Nobriga and Betty Hill and his wife Wanda. Don and Wanda married in 1955, and became an instant family, as Wanda already had 2 young children and a teenage ward.
He is survived by his sister Ruth Rentfro and her husband Aubrey, brother-in-law, Hank Nobriga and children Judith Baldwin, Bruce Baldwin, Pamela Jones and husband Christopher, Philip Hash and wife Cheryl; Grandchildren Lacey Baldwin, Colleen Denny-Duggan and husband Kevin, Elaine Denny-Hosford and husband Nathan, Amanda Denny, Caryn Hash and Monika Hash; as well as 3 great grandchildren, Kaylee, Ashley and Makena.

He served in Britain with the Army Corp of Engineers running the motor pool. His unique claim to fame was he knew all of the serial numbers for all of his vehicles.
Don was a dedicated employee of the State Employment Development Department for his entire 40 year career. After his retirement in 1986, his greatest joy was spending time reading to his grandchildren until they were old enough to read to him.
He was an avid golfer and managed to golf several times a week up until this past December. He was a charter member of the Golden State Golf Club as well as a longtime member of the Antioch Senior Golf Club.
No services will be held.
