Frances Muther Brown, 99, died on Dec. 4 in El Cerrito. Born in Newton, Mass. Frances is pre-deceased by her siblings, Robert Muther and Barbara Lacy; her husband Edgar Brown; and their son Walter Ferris Brown and his wife Karen Meub Brown. Loving grandmother of Caroline Korejko, Jennifer Sime and Katherine Brown. Great grandmother of Sullivan and Cooper. Graduate of Newton High School and Skidmore College, Frances served as a health aide in WWII. She taught mathematics at Berkeley High School from 1960-1979. An avid reader, gardener, hiker and traveler, Fran was certified in Jin Shin Jyutsu and a member of the Sierra Club. Long-time volunteer for Read-Aloud and Meals on Wheels. Fran leaves many cherished friends and family. There will be an informal gathering in the Fireside Room, Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, 1 Lawson Road, Kensington, December 17th, 3-5 p.m.
