Former Martinez Resident
Frank passed away peacefully on Dec. 30th due to natural causes. He was a strong, yet gentle man who touched our lives as he quietly led us by example.
Frank was raised in Winters, CA where his family owned and operated a bakery. He married his childhood sweetheart, Helen Roman and they settled in Martinez where they raised three daughters. Frank retired from underground construction companies where he ran pipelines across Northern California. Frank was a WWII veteran where he served the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. Frank was also a commercial fisherman out of Tomales Bay.
Frank is survived by his wife, Anita Hulse-Garcia; his brother Joseph Garcia, sister Dee Papin, his daughters, Mary Ellen, Joann and Wendy, stepson Phillip, his grandchildren, Debi, Raini, Shari, Richie and Jimmy, as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Helen Garcia.
In his later years Frank married Anita Hulse and moved to Humboldt County where he enjoyed living amongst the redwoods, near the ocean he loved, and the many new friends he acquired.
We will always remember your big, strong hands which were tough, yet gentle and caring.
