Harold Silvas passed away at home at the age of 90, surrounded by his family. He was an Army Veteran of WWll and retired from the Richmond School District as an electrician foreman in 1982.
Harold was a gifted musician and played his accordion in the Skonk Holler Hillbilly Band as a teen, in the Yanks A Million Band, in Europe, while in the service, and later, with the Jack Horner Trio. A member of the Musician's Union for 52 years, he was still serving on the Board of Directors at the time of his death. Harold enjoyed swimming, fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
Harold is survived by his wife of 69 years, Celeste, his children, Christine Costa (Alex), Cynthia Christian, and Edward Silvas (Judy). Grandchildren: Michael Costa, Catherine Castillo, Larry Wolf, Steven Silvas, and Shawn Silvas. Great grandchildren: Avery Costa, Joshua Castillo and Kassidy Wolf.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the VA Clinic in Martinez, and the staff from AseraCare Hospice for the compassionate care they provided. At Harold's request there will be no services. Donations in his memory may be made to the
