Resident of Livermore, CA
Jane Hipple passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2014 in Livermore California.
Jane was born November 21, 1926 and lived much of her early life in various places in the Midwest and Eastern part of the US. Eventually the family ended up in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Jane graduated from Ohio State University in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics.
She then headed west to explore the world. By 1950 she was working in San Francisco and in January 1951 she married Joe Hipple, who was a graduate student at UC Berkeley. Jane's death came just 5 days after what would have been their 63rd wedding anniversary. Joe passed away on Dec 1, 2013. It seems that Joe wanted Jane to come home, so now they are together again.
Throughout her married life, Jane supported and nurtured her husband Joe and two sons, and she constantly helped other people. It is safe to say that most of the family's adventures could not have happened without her support, her patience, and her creative ability to create a secure home wherever she and Joe went. Joe and Jane thought up many ideas and in many ways Jane provided the logistics to make them happen. These successful ideas included Joe's construction of the family home and a second home for their retirement years, a couple of trips to Europe, and many camping trips throughout the USA. She was in the thick of it for many years as a one-woman support system for Team Hipple, and it always seemed like she loved what she did. She always had those bright eyes and happy smile.
Jane is survived her sons David (and Lisa) Hipple of Livermore, CA and Benjamin Hipple of McCall, ID; and four grandchildren. Memorial and celebration of life service will be on March 8, 2014 at 1 PM at Hillcrest Congregational Church , 404 Gregory Lane in Pleasant Hill. Donations in memory of Jane can be made to Hope Hospice at www.hopehospice.com, or to the American Field Service at www.afsusa.org/donate
