Obituary Condolences

Lowell S. Dygert Jan. 26, 1923-Sept. 26, 2012 Resident of Lafayette Lowell Dygert, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife Helen of 57 years and his devoted son Ron, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edwin and Elvy Peterson, as well as nieces and nephews, and cousins Cynthia Kesselring and Justin Dygert. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Margaret (Glen) Cooper. He was born in Berkeley, Ca to Margaret and Roland Dygert. Lowell attended University High School in Oakland, Ca. He was called to service when World War II began, serving in the Army Signal Corps in the South Pacific at Hollandia, New Guinea, and Leyte S. Phillippines. Upon his discharge, Lowell graduated from the University of California, where he was a member of the ATO Fraternity. He worked as a Claims Adjuster for Allstate Insurance and George Hills. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed various activities and trips with SIRS Branch 116 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8063 of Lafayette; as well as trips with his wife Helen. He served as a Deacon at the Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church. Memorial services will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 1:30pm at the Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian chapel.
