MICHAEL JOSEPH URSO Obituary
Michael Joseph Urso July 31, 1944 - Dec. 1, 2012 Resident of Concord Michael Joseph Urso, 68 of Concord, CA died surrounded by his loving family on December 1st, 2012 after a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Michael was born in New Britain Connecticut on July 31st, 1944, the third child of Helen and Frank Urso. After graduating high school Mike joined the Air Force & served overseas ending in Germany with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After leaving the service he was employed as a grocery manager for Food Mart Corp. where he met the love of his life Patricia McCluskey whom he wed in September of 1975. In 1982 they were blessed with the birth of their first child Brendan and three years later graced by their daughter Brittany. In August of 1992 he moved with his family to Concord, CA to begin a new journey. He worked for Valent Corporation as a facilities manager while beginning his own cleaning company. One of his great joys in life was watching his children compete in sports and music activities. He also took advantage of the great weather by spending quality time outdoors with his family, including frequent trips to Sausalito, San Francisco, and camping at Dylan's Beach. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia (Pat), son Brendan, daughter Melinda, Janice & Hank Wellin, Albert Urso (Diana), Leslie Urso, Kathleen & James Zitani, Marianne & Rolando Tecun, Peter & Robin McCluskey, Maureen & Robert Reault, Thomas McCluskey (Karen), Paul & Jeanne McCluskey. 22 nieces & nephews and 11 grand-nieces & nephews. He will be truly missed by his faithful companions Darby & Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents Helen & Frank, his in-laws Thomas & Pauline McCluskey, the twinkle of his eye that he has been reunited with, daughter Brittany Mary Urso. The family would like to thank all of the nurses & staff from Vitas that took such wonderful care of Mike during the last couple of months in his life. They all brought such comfort & joy to him and he held them all in very high regard. Services will be held in Connecticut on December 12th, 2012. A Celebration of Life will take place at the family home in Concord on December 21st, 2012 at 3:00pm.
