Nicholas John Aviani
July 19, 1916 – April 30, 2014
Resident of Moraga
Nick was born in Oakland, CA to Joseph and Roza Aviani. He attended St. Mary's High School and Armstrong College. He met his wife of nearly 74 years, June Green, in Sacramento where they both worked for the Dept. of Employment. Nick served in the Army during WW II, stationed in the Aleutian Islands. After his military service he moved the family to Berkeley where they raised their family of five children. Nick worked for 32 years in the S.F. office of the IRS then he taught at Golden Gate University. Nick enjoyed golf, dancing and traveling. He was affiliated with the Orinda Lion's Club, SIRS Branch 8 and the Colombo Club. Nick is survived by his loving wife, June, his five children; Judy Harte, Richard (Irene), John (Linda), Susan Fein (Dick) and David, eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
No funeral will be held as per Nick's request, but a celebration of Nick's life will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be made in Nick's memory to the Lion's Center for the Blind, 2115 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612.
