Resident of Pleasant Hill
Ryan Carl Weinberg, aka RyRy, RyGuy, Buddy, Dude and Poochie Bear. On January 28, 2014, God received a special gift when Ryan was given his angel wings. Ryan's final days were spent surrounded by the love of family and friends. For many, his life would seem too short, 23 years. The challenges and obstacles in his life were tremendous, making each achievement a celebration and a proud moment. Ryan taught us that nothing in life can be taken for granted. Ryan's strength and gift was love. He received it and gave it in copious amounts to all who encountered him. He was a remarkable soul, with a constant smile and infectious laugh which brought so much joy to his families, friends, and to all he met along his journey
Ryan graduated from Northgate High School in 2009, then attended the TIL program at Taft College, where he flourished. At the time of his passing he had been accepted to the Taft graduate TIPSID program.
Ryan was an avid sports fan! He loved bowling and bocce ball, winning many medals in the Special Olympics. He kept in touch with all through Facebook posts and individual goodnight and good morning text messages. He loved going to the movies. He also enjoyed shooting pool, hanging out and chillin' with his buddies. Ryan was the life of every party. He loved bustin' out his moves on the dance floor. Ryan was always looking forward to family gatherings and holiday celebrations.
Ryan's love was deeply felt, and returned, by all of his BART family. Special thanks go out to his cardiologist and friend Howard Rosenfeld, and to the staff at Children's Hospital Oakland, who took such tender care of Ryan for most of his life. Very special heartfelt thanks go to the staff of Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford.
Ryan is survived by his loving parents, Pam and Alan of Pleasant Hill, grandparents Carl and Gerry Weinberg and Terry and Bob Kues, his adoring aunts and harassing uncles, Karen, Marty, David, Debbie, Kevin, Susan, Mike and Jo Ellen, his favorite cousin Nik (Jen), his favorite cousin Britney, his favorite cousin Elizabeth, his favorite cousin Chelsea, his favorite second cousin Bryce, his favorite cousin Lindsay (Ed), his favorite cousin DJ (Kate) his favorite cousin Marty Jr, his favorite cousin Elijah, his favorite cousin Sam, his favorite cousin Kaden, his favorite cousin Khloe, and great aunts, uncles, and friends too numerous to name, and his forever sweetheart and Pookie Bear, Dee-Dee Smith.
