Susan Hand Jan. 7, 1938 - Jan. 10, 2013 Resident of Concord Susan Hand died peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 10, 2013 while surrounded by loving family. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Susan grew up in Tennessee and graduated from Fulton High School in Knoxville in 1956. She moved to Berkeley after graduation to pursue a singing and modeling career, and while working for her Aunt Bea at The Broiler Restaurant in Berkeley, she was runner up Miss Oakland in 1956. She met Robert Hand at the Berkeley Ice rink and fell in love in early 1957 and was married in August of 1957. She was married to Robert until his passing in March of 1999. Susan and Robert were the owners of Precision Electric Company from 1974 to 1992. Besides being a loving mother to her 3 children and to her 3 grandchildren, she always made the employees at Precision Electric feel as if they had a second mom. She was an avid water skier and hosted many outings on the Delta and Lake Shasta with family and friends. She truly was the hostess with the mostest!! She loved music, dancing and the Arts. She also worked as a floral designer for Danville Florist and Countrywood Florist in Concord. Susan was an active member of Merry Mixers in her later years and enjoyed ballroom dancing. She also was an active member of Faith Christian Fellowship in Concord. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Cornelia, husband Robert, daughter Marcia and granddaughter Michelle. She is survived by her brother Sewell, sister Sherry, sons Mark and Michael and grandchildren Nicholas and Nina. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on February 2nd at 1pm at Faith Christian Fellowship at 860 Bancroft in Concord. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Breast Cancer Society, Hospice, or to Oakmont Cemetery to help with the interment ceremony.
