Bill was born in Portland OR, served his country on a troop ship during World War II, and used the G.I. Bill to graduate from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR. He then began his career with Crown Zellerbach, which eventually brought him to Walnut Creek in 1967, while working in their San Francisco office. He continued his education at night, earning his MBA from St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA. After the love of his wife and family, Bill loved time spent at his cabin in Pinecrest. Bill lost his struggle with Frontotemporal Dementia, on a day surrounded by his loving family. Bill is survived by June, his wife of 61 years; Daughters Debbie Cervelli (Danville), Laurie Gorman (Rio Vista), Kathleen Patterson (Winnetka, IL); Grandchildren Karen Smith (Fairfield), Heather Gorman (Pleasant Hill), Kevin Cervelli (San Ramon), Brian Cervelli (Dublin), Will Patterson (Winnetka, IL), Maggie Patterson (Winnetka, IL); and Great Granddaughter Adelae Cervelli (San Ramon).
A Memorial Service honoring Bill will be held at First Presbyterian Church Concord, 1965 Colfax St, Concord on Tuesday, April 8 at 3:00pm. Please contact Hull's Chapel at 925-934-5400 for additional information.
