William Gary Warden, 72, of Willis, Texas, died Saturday, August 24, 2013.
He was born to the late Elwood Warden and Wilma Warden, in Carthage, MO., on Feb. 3, 1941. William graduated from Carthage High School in 1959 and received a bachelor's of science in engineering from the University of Minnesota at Duluth after he completed military service for the Air Force.
He married the late Patricia Ann Larson-Warden in 1964, and they lived together with their children in Duluth Minn., before relocating to Texas in 2000.
William work for the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) until he retired in 1997. He was instrumental in serveral road and bridge projects throughout Deluth and Minneapolis and was honored with the MNDOT Lifetime Service Award at the end of his career.
William was active in local Catholic Church with his wife Patricia, where he participated in the Knights of Columnbus in Duluth, Minn. William and Patricia were passionate about traveling with their children and enjoyed camping and throughout the United States.
William is survived by three children: Tom Warden and Laura Espinosa, of Houston, Texas; Billie Price, of Denver Colo.; and Patrick Warden of Minneapolis, Minn. He is also survived by six grandchildren and his sister, Sharon Warden.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Willis, Texas by the Corinthian Point Home owners Association. Celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 at their clubhouse.
William and his wife Patricia will be interred at Fort Snelling national Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minn.
Interment will be a family ceremony held in spring of 2014.
