Alfonso R. Rea

AGE: 85 • Voorhees

On August 7, 2014, Alfonso passed away while residing at the Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland New Jersey. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Alfonso later moved to Voorhees with his wife, Mary and family. He proudly served in the U S Marine Corps during World War II and in Korea. He was an expert Rifleman, Tail Gunner, and carpenter during that time. He continued his career as an expert carpenter with many notable accomplishments. Alfonso was a former member of the Carpenter's Union in Philadelphia and Superintendent for 30 years at the John A. Robbins Co. Alfonso was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 10116 in the Kirkwood section of Voorhees where he also served as Post Commander. Alfonso was known for his enthusiasm for antique cars, for his never ending willingness to help others, and his love of the American Flag.

Alfonso was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary Cuva Rea. He is lovingly survived by his devoted daughter Suzanne Rea, his son Deano Rea and wife Cathy, and his step son John Stefanick and wife Nina; 4 grandchildren: Andrew and wife Renay with their children Jolene and Andrew, Jr.; Randal and wife Lauren along with their children Julie, Hailey and Abigail; Amanda and husband Roarke along with their children Natalie, Shane, Jamison and Annabella; and Daniel and his finance' Emily. He is the dear brother of Helen (John) Centola and Robert (Nettie) Rea along with 17 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday evening from 7:00PM-9:00PM and again Wednesday morning from 9:15AM-10:15AM at the HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 1816 Berlin Road ( Route 561), Cherry Hill followed by his Funeral Mass Wednesday, 11:00AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 27 Kresson-Gibbsboro Road, Gibbsboro, NJ. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth, NJ following Mass.
