Carl Henry Blaschke

AGE: 86 • Westville

Carl Henry Blaschke, 86, of Westville, NJ, entered eternal life on April 9, 2012, at Underwood Memorial Hospital Woodbury. Carl was a lifelong resident of Westville and a graduate of Woodbury High School in 1944. He was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Westville and most recently St. Stephen's Lutheran Church of Woodbury. He worked as an orthopedic mechanic technician for 46 years which included making prosthetics for World War II and Korean War veterans. He donated blood to the American Red Cross for over 40 years. Carl was a rail fan throughout the years and a longtime member of the Reading Technical and Historical Railroad Society and West Jersey Chapter of the National Railroad Society. He was a fifty-seven year member of the National Geographic Society and also a member of the Gloucester County Historical Society.

Son of the late Harry and Rosine (nee Bay) and cousin to the late Rosemarie Epple of Fellbach, Germany. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Lee (Watson); son Harry George of Westville; daughter Barbara Lee (Frank) Long of Pennsauken; grandson Sterling Blaschke Long; cousin Martin Bay of Sulzbach/Murr, Germany.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday 11:00 AM at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church 230 N. Evergreen Ave., Woodbury, NJ 08096 where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter located at 1200 North Delsea Drive, Clayton New Jersey 08312, or to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. Condolences and memories may be shared @www.ellisstiefelfuneralhome.com.
