Carol D. Brown

AGE: 62 • formerly of Merchantville

Carol D. Brown, formerly of Merchantville, peacefully passed away, with her family at her bedside, on January 3, 2013 at Kresson View Center, Voorhees. Beloved sister of Barbara (Bob) Rosenbleeth, Robert (Ursula) Brown and Janice (Steve) Venables. Carol lived at home with her mother, Evalyn Brown, until 1988 and attended several programs for the developmentally disabled in Camden and Gloucester counties. She lived at Piney Hollow Group Home, Williamstown, from 1988 to 2007, and at Kresson View thereafter. Carol participated in Special Olympics in bowling and worked through various activity and work programs. Carol was very loved by her family and many friends and anyone who encountered her. Her love of life was infectious and she inspired all those who met her. Carol was born with Down syndrome and lived a full, robust life. Carol will always be remembered for her unabiding love for family and friends, her infectious laugh, her sarcasm, her love of music and dancing, Christmas and birthdays, (especially her own) and barbecues. In recent years, Carol was lovingly cared for by the staff at Kresson View Center.

Carol was predeceased by her mother, Evalyn Brown, her father, Robert Brown, and her brother, William Brown. She is survived by her siblings Barbara (Bob), Bobby (Ursula) and Janice (Steve), and by her nieces and nephews, Kirsten, Jason, Darcy, Christopher, Josh, Lindsay, Erin, Leslie, Chelsea, Deirdre and Carrie. Carol will be forever remembered and deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to viewing/visitation on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Christ Our Light Church, 402 Kings Hwy. North, Cherry Hill, followed by Mass celebration at 11:00 a.m. Internment at Calvary Cemetery, Route 70, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to National Down Syndrome Society or a . Arrangements are by Stephenson-Brown Funeral Home, 33 W. Maple Ave., Merchantville, N.J.
