John C. Sampson

AGE: 70 • Pennsauken

John C. Sampson, 70, of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2014. He was born and raised in Yeadon, PA and raised in Hunlock Creek, PA, before moving to Pennsauken in 1986. He was the son of Clyde and Dorothy Sampson. John proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He went on to work for Martz Lines in Philadelphia for 15 years. John was a tenor in many church choirs, an Eagle Scout, and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was very proud of his Swedish heritage, was a lifelong fan of the Phillies, and was a member of the Trinity Church, Oxford in Philadelphia. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed.

John leaves behind to carry on his legacy, his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary Sampson; loving daughters Anne Ehrke and husband, Norm; Rebecca Sampson; Amy Liberi and husband, Eric; and Kate Sampson; as well as his cherished granddaughters Cadence, Claire and Grace Ehrke.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6-8PM at Inglesby & Sons Funeral Home, 2426 Cove Road, Pennsauken NJ 08109 and on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 9-10AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, Oxford Ave and Longshore Ave, Philadelphia PA 19111, followed by a 10AM Funeral Service. John will be laid to rest at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to Trinity Episcopal Church Music Memorial Fund, 6901 Rising Sun Ave., Philadelphia PA 19111.
