Joseph G. Foy, a resident of Cinnaminson for 46 years, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2014. He was 88 years old. Born in Philadelphia on July 17, 1925 to Helen and John Foy, Joe was the youngest of 4 boys. He graduated from North Catholic High School in 1943, and immediately joined the U.S. Army Air Corps to fight in WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946. In 1949, he married his beloved Betty Bastian. He went on to work for RCA, where he stayed for 3 decades. During that time, Joe received his Bachelors from the University of Colorado in 1969, and his Masters in Electrical Engineering at Drexel University in 1977. He retired from RCA in 1986. He went on to work for Lockheed in Plainfield, NJ for 4 years. In 1990, he returned to South Jersey to work for the Computer Science Corporation in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Joe retired in 2000.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Betty (nee Bastian) for 64 years. Loving father of Carol Knouse of Florida, John (Patricia) of Southampton, NJ, Gerald (Cheri) of Mount Arlington, NJ, and Kathleen Hawkins (Steven) of Winslow, NJ. Dear grandfather of Timothy, Tara, Jennifer, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Juli, Dakota and Dillon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joseph's Life Celebration at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Rte. 130 N., on Sunday from 5-7 pm, and Monday from 9-10 am. His funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Branch Pike and Pomona Rd., Cinnaminson. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Route 130 N. in Cinnaminson.
