Louis Maiuro, age 91, of Winslow Twp., NJ passed away Wed., October 16, 2013 at home with his family by his side. Born in Elm, NJ he was a lifelong area resident. Louis served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during WWII and proudly earned a Purple Heart. He worked for Public Service, Quaker City, Trail Ways and retired from Grey Hound Bus Company in 1988. After retirement you could find Lou greeting people at Kmart or Sears in Berlin. He was a member of the Berlin V.F.W. ANMAC Post #6253 and the Trinity United Methodist Church of Tansboro, NJ. Louis was a kind person and a friend to everyone. He loved to garden, mow and edge his lawn.
Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Maiuro. Surviving is his loving wife Helen Anderson Maiuro (nee Chambers). His son Alan Maiuro of Four Oak, NC and Robyn Elizabeth Maiuro of Woodbury, NJ. 2 sisters, Angelina Mortellite of Hammonton, NJ, and Louise Gellabert of El Paso, TX. Loving grandfather of Justin Maiuro, Kristina Johnson and great grandson Fisher. His extended family Janet (George) Kirchhoff, Robin Eichler and Mary Ellen Davis. Grandfather of Kimberly, Keith, Kristin, Courtney and Jeannie. Great Grandfather of Tyler, Connor, Kayla, Catherine, Cameron, Charlotte and Oliver. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his friends from Samaritan Hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday 9:00am - 11:00am with services held at 11:00am at the Marinella Funeral Home 102N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Bates Mills Cemetery Erhke Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Samaritan Hospice 300 Eves.
