Tom Paige, formerly of Haddon Heights, NJ., died on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the age of 94. He is survived by his son Robert and daughter-in-law Susan and grandchildren Michael and Alison, and his son Christopher and daughter-in-law Colleen. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Margaret (Peggy), nee Mullen, of 50 years, his daughter Jo-Ann, and sisters Josephine and Ray. Tom is survived by his brother Albert.
Tom retired as Vice President, Natural Resources Division, Gulf+Western Industries, New York, NY and President of the New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, PA in 1982. A graduate of New York University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, Tom worked during the war as an Engineer at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. His career with New Jersey Zinc spanned 27 years.
Visitation with family will be held on Tuesday, January 21 from 6-8 pm at the Lechner Funeral Home, 24 N. Main Street, Medford, NJ, and on Wednesday, January 22 from 10-11 am at St. Mary of the Lakes Church, 40 Jackson Rd. in Medford, followed by a Mass at 11 am. Burial is in Harleigh Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jo-Ann Paige Memorial Scholarship Fund at Douglass College of Rutgers University, which awards outstanding students in journalism/communications (www.douglassalumnae.org/giving/annual-fund), or to the Samaritan Hospice in Marlton, NJ.
