Albert "Dick" Richard Lee, 69, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013, at McLaren Central Michigan.
Dick was born on December 16, 1943 in Carlinville, IL, the son of Albert Bush and C. Virginia (Lynch) Lee. He married Karen Rose Wood on September 4, 1965 in Glendale, CA. Dick received his Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration from Indiana University and a Master's Degree in Adult Education from St. Francis University in Fort Wayne, IN. Dick worked for the Mt. Pleasant Regional Center for 23 years. He also worked at the Mt. Pleasant Smoker's Club for the past 10 years and he was a founding member of the Mt. Town Society of Kapnismologists. He was a member of the Faith Weavers of St. Mary's and St. Vincent de Paul, the Jaycees, Optimist club, and on the Isabella County Parks & Rec. Commission. Dick enjoyed being with his family, traveling, and playing golf.
Dick is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen; 3 children, Rebecca Anne (Matthew) Millar of Fishers, IN, Christopher Allen (Sheryl) Lee of East Grand Rapids, and Patricia Nicole Lee of Bay City; 5 grandchildren, Maddox, Declan, and Beckett Lee, and Katherine and Anna Millar; 2 brothers, John (Barbara) Lee of Waukesha, WI, and Robert Lee of Evansville, IN; 2 sisters, Linda (Ted) Groves of Milwaukee, WI, and Shannon (David) Curtiss of Evansville, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pamela Reising.
A Funeral Mass for Dick will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Shepherd, MI, on Friday, January 11, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Fred Kawka officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 10, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel, Mt. Pleasant, MI. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 11 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Weavers. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church during the services.
