Beatrice Weis
Evansville, IN
Beatrice "Bea" (Elpers) Weis, age 83, of St. Wendel, passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital Main Campus.
Mrs. Weis was born June 6, 1930 to the late Peter John and Cecilia (Hormuth) Elpers in Gibson County, IN.
Bea was a homemaker, a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality at St. Wendel and VFW Post # 6576 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting and had made and donated many quilts to Riley Children's Hospital. She was an avid bingo player.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Cecilia and Randy Kuester of Evansville and Wilma and Mike Bittner of Haubstadt; four sons and their wives, Anthony and Kathy Weis of Evansville, Paul and Debby Weis of Haubstadt, John and Patty Weis of Evansville and David and Susan Weis of Mt. Vernon. Also surviving are one sister, Florence Kissel of Haubstadt; 22 grandchildren, Jason, Brian (Lindsey) and Cara Kuester, Rebecca (Brett) Seib, Jessica (Aaron) Molin, Jacob Paul (Kelley) Weis, Abby (Brandon) Frazer, Deidre Weis, William (Kassi) Weis, Bryan (Megan) Bittner, Michelle (Kevin) Mulvaney, Melissa (Bryan) Will, David and Dana Bittner, Jacob Benjamin, Joshua, and Jared Weis, Alaina Halsey, Andrew, Anna, Aaron and Adeline Weis and 11 great grandchildren, Carter and Cooper Seib, Diesel and Onyx Molin, Olivia and Graham Weis, Chloe Frazer, Liam Weis, Reese and Bailey Bittner and Landon Mulvaney.
In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clinton Weis in 2011; by four sisters, Christina Voelker, Sr. Agnes Cecilia, OSB, Odelia Goedde and Viola Johnson and four brothers, Aemilian, Marcellus, Norbert and Raphael Elpers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 14, 2014 at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Rev. Ed Schnur officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 4:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Monday at St. Wendel Church.
