Billy E. Jones
Newburgh, Ind.
Billy E. Jones, 81 of Newburgh, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at his home.
Billy was born October 11, 1932, in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, to the late Earl and Jessie (Underwood) Jones. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Billy was a lifelong member of the VFW. He was a prolific painter and a member of several art guilds.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Dolores (Mertens) Ridenour-Jones of Newburgh; daughters, Connie Barnett and Jennifer Overton; sons, Ronald and Philip Jones; stepchildren, Eric, Alan, Lee, Mark Ridenour and Elizabeth Ridenour-Paternoster; siblings, Joan Zalatel and Carol Curtis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Randall "Pete" Jones.
Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, where at 2 p.m. the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will perform full military rites.
