Bobby J. Roberts, 80, of Evansville, Passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on October 9, 1932 in Yankeetown, IN.
He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War and worked at Whirlpool for 42 years.
Bob loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and coached baseball for many years. Bob was a loyal IU basketball fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob attended Washington Ave. Baptist Church for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Judy Roberts; parents, Waldo Roberts and Claudina Buchanan; sister, Jean Galster; grandchildren, Wendy Sue and Kelly Jo.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Joann S. Conger and husband, Bill; sons, Michael H. Roberts and wife, Kathy and Bobby J. Roberts, Jr. and wife, Alexis; seven grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 6, 2013 at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Kris Holzmeyer with burial at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home and on Monday from 11:30 until service time.
