Donald L. Grossman
Evansville, Ind.
Donald L. Grossman, 86, of Evansville, Ind., passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Columbia Nursing Home. He was born on April 21, 1928 to the late August Grossman and Caroline Essman.
Donald was a hard working father and a loving husband. He adored his grandchildren. He served with the Navy in WWII and the Korean War and was with the Navy Reserve many years afterwards. Donald was a member of the VFW Post# 1114, was a Hadi Shriner for many years, worked as a Deputy Reserve on the Sheriff's Department for several years and retired from Ideal American after more than 25 years of service.
Donald is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jean Grossman; sister, Lorene Fox, of Ohio; children, Terry Grossman, David (Teresa) Grossman, and Bruce Grossman; grandchildren, Jamie (Anthony) Attebery, Jeremy (Jamie) Rexing, Josh (Stannesha) Grossman, Ben Grossman, Candace (Sean) Foster, Brandi (Nate) Kell, Micah (Jon) Baumann, Brian (Denise) Grossman, Anna Grossman, and Brianna Grossman; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Karen Rexing and Greg Grossman.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Park. Contributions may be made, in memory of Donald L. Grossman, to the American Asthma Foundation, Box 0509, San Francisco, CA 94143-0509. Sunset Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
