Edward F. "Bud" Galloway, Jr., age 82, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center.
Bud had worked as a bartender for several local taverns, including Harpole's Tavern, Ole' Sweigs and the Bedford Tavern and had also worked as a welder for Whirlpool. Bud was a veteran of the United States Army and a life member of the American Legion, VFW Charles Denby Post #2953, the Eagles, Owls and Germania Maennerchor.
Surviving Bud are a daughter, Donna (Rusty) Galloway of Evansville; five sons, Ric (Betty) Steele-Galloway of Mustang, OK, Tony Galloway of Evansville, Ben (Treva) Galloway of Paducah, KY, Fred Galloway of Evansville and Tim (Peggy) Galloway of Winter Park, FL; one sister, Martha Lester of Mt. Vernon, IN and a brother, Gary (Carol) Galloway of Evansville. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Mr. Galloway was preceded in death by a son, Edward Galloway, III.
Friends may gather to celebrate Bud's life on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bedford Tavern, 1201 S. Bedford Avenue.
Bud's family would like to thank Dr. Jon Hall and his staff and Dr. Khan at Veteran's Administration, Dr. Khan's nurses, Karole and Sheila and the rest of the staff at the VA who made his life so much easier. The family would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice and the 6th Floor Nurses at St. Mary's Hospital, especially CB and Bekah for their compassionate care.
