Elizabeth 'Betty' (Hipp) Bridges
Evansville, Ind.
Elizabeth "Betty" Johanna (Hipp) Bridges, 82, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Pinehaven Nursing Home. She retired from Dr. J. F. Winiger's office in 1991, having worked there for 17 years. She also worked at the Old Mill and the Oaks restaurants, as well as at V.F.W. Post 1114.
She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church for more than 40 years and spent a generous amount of time driving her friends where they needed to go. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Diamond Stringtown Neighborhood Association, the Jacobsville Neighborhood Association, as well as a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 1114 Auxiliary and the V.F.W. National Home.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard Alan Bridges and Anne E. Strait, of Carlsbad, N.M.; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline Sue and William Muehlenbein, of Lucas, Texas; and daughter, Victoria Lynn Greenfield, of Evansville, Ind.; grandchildren, Natosha Drysdale and boyfriend, Andrew Hudnall, Sara Muehlenbein and boyfriend, Shane Smith, Alicia Drysdale, and Trisha Greenfield; great-grandchildren, Jorden Green, Lexi Hudnall, and Hunter Hudnall; sisters, Delores Wimstatt, of O'Fallen, Mo., and Shirley Jones, of Cynthiana, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Jack" Bridges; parents, Wendelin and Theresa Hipp; grandchild, Patricia Greenfield; brothers, Eugene "Scotty" Hipp and James Hipp, of Haubstadt, Ind., and Kenneth Hipp of St. Joe, Ind.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 600 Herndon Drive. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue Evansville, IN 47711, where a memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friends may also visit from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
