Elmer R. (Ronnie) Lautner, 76, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.
Ronnie was born near Tell City on December 6, 1935, son of the late Elmer and Mildred Ziegelgruber Lautner. He was also preceded by a sister, Pat Heichelbech. Ronnie was a 1954 graduate of Tell City High School and served eight years in the United States Navy Reserve. He was united in marriage on December 28, 1957 to the former Marlene Kleeman, who survives. He was employed as a car salesman for 39 years at Werner Motor Company and later Cambron Chevrolet. He retired in 1998.
Ronnie was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1424, American Legion Post #213, Hoosier Heights Country Club and was formerly a member of the Tell City Jaycees. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, golf, attending shooting matches and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene, three daughters, Susan Lautner, Cleveland, Ohio, Karen Hyde (Ron), Houston, Texas, Sandy Traphagen (Craig), Evanston, Indiana and a son, Kevin Lautner (Michelle), Elberfeld, Indiana. He has seven grandchildren, Neil, Trevor, Brennan, Natalie, Molly, Kyle and Keenan and one great granddaughter, Emma.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery where the American Legion will conduct military graveside rites.
Visitation is from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Monday and 9:00 until 11:00 Tuesday at the funeral home.
