Evansville, IN
Emerson Scott, age 86, of Evansville, IN formerly of Henderson, KY, passed away at 3:20 AM, Friday, August 22, 2014, at Protestant Home in Evansville, IN.
Emerson married his sweetheart on June 4, 1949. In April of 1953, he enlisted in the United States Army, were he served after the Korea Conflict. Back home, Emerson worked in engineering with Scott Industries, a family owned and operated business. He had numerous patents for machinery that he built. After a long career, Emerson retired from machine making as Senior Director of Engineering. He went to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and was a member of the Elks Club. He played music beautifully and was a very gifted guitarist. Emerson played with many different bands. He was a huge Chet Adkins fan. Emerson was a loving husband and a great father. He had lots of wonderful friends. His home was full of love and fun.
In addition to his parents, Obe and Frankie Pearcy Scott, Emerson was preceded in death by his sons: Quentin and Alan Ray Scott, brothers: Drura Scott, Lambert Scott, Rudy Scott, and V.D. Scott, sisters: Blanche Carver and LaVerne Margules.

Scott of Evansville, IN Son: Thomas Ray Scott and wife Linda of Bradenton, FL Daughter: Faye Scott Meredith and husband James of Newburgh, IN 3 Grandchildren: Kathy Oakley of Henderson, KY Derek Richmond and wife Vicki of Sarasota, FL Michael Clark of Panama City Beach, FL
6 Great Grandchildren: Dalton, Ryan, Brittany, Lindsey, Cassandra, and Tayden Nieces and Nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Emerson's Life Celebration from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2014 at the funeral home with the Reverend Ted Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
