Emma Eloise Himebaugh
Died April 25, 2014 at the Protestant Home.
Emma was born April 5, 1917 in Covington, IN to Nelson and Hannah Belle (Bantz) Galloway and a descendant of the earliest settlers. She attended Lafayette Business College and Indiana University. She was employed as an underwriter at the Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Company of Indianapolis.
She was a member of The Methodist Temple, Vanderburgh County Medical Auxiliary, Medical Mrs., D.A.R. , the Kennel Club, The Petroleum Club, and several bridge groups.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Gilbert Himebaugh of 71 years, son, Gilbert J. Himebaugh (Betty Clark), of Newburgh, daughters Cynthia Forbes (Frank), of Evansville, Sarah Ebbeler (Kurt) of Conroe, TX and Elizabeth Smith (Philip), of Cincinnati, OH, ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Georgiana Eldred, and brother, Paul Galloway.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel and will continue from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1 at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Beutler officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Covington, Indiana.
