Felix Thomas Jr.
Henderson, Ky.
Felix Thomas Jr., 82, of Henderson, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 11:29 p.m. at Methodist Hospital. He was born in Henderson County to the late Felix Sr. and Lillian (Herron) Thomas on December 1, 1931.
Felix was a retired from Gamco Products as a plating supervisor after 29 years. He was a member of Belleview Methodist Church since the age of 14, and was also a Korean War U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a 54-year member of the Corydon Masonic Lodge #799, a Rizpah Shriner and a Kentucky Colonel. Felix loved flying, motorcycle riding, boating and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha "Ducky" Green and Norma Jean Brewer; and brother-in-law, Ray Green.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Janice Thomas; two children, Kimberly "Kim" Purgeason and husband, Jody, Craig Thomas, all of Henderson; two sisters, Martha Sue Reynolds, of Owensboro, Freida A. Werner and husband, John, of Tacoma, Wash.; one brother-in-law, William "Bill" Brewer; three grandchildren, Matthew Reynolds and wife, Natalie, Chad Thomas and wife, Brooke, Nichole Ratley and husband, J. Jay; three great-grandchildren, Addleyn Ratley, Ruby Reynolds and Cayden Thomas; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. Steve Hale will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont cemetery with military rites conducted by American Legion Worsham Post 40 Honor Guard. Visitation will be Monday 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted by the Corydon and Henderson Masonic Lodges Monday evening at 6 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Shriner's Hospital, 1900 Richmond Rd.
