George A. Anderson, 84, was reunited with his wife of 63 years, Dorothy, on October 7, 2013. He was born September 6, 1929, in Bronx, N.Y.
He was an avid member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and a member of VFW #2953. He was a master sergeant in the Army, served in the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient.
George was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, Ted; and parents, Theodore and Hedwig Anderson.
He is survived by his daughters, Betty (Donnie) Becker and Georgia (David) Barton, of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter-in -law, Brenda Anderson; grandchildren, Cody Becker, Todd Anderson, Brad (Debbie) Anderson and Heather Pinkerton, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and five great-grandchildren.
Services with military rites will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Don Gray, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
