John W. Stuteville, Sr., 79 of Evansville passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014
John was born November 26, 1934 in Evansville, IN the son of the late William and Nettie (Young) Stuteville and was of the Christian Faith. Preceding him in death was his brother Dave Stuteville. John was a loving father, grandfather, and uncle. He was a former semi-pro basketball player and a IU alumni. John worked as a mechanical engineer for 11 years at General Motors in Kokomo, IN and in 1993 he retired from General Foods after 26 years. John was an outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, fishing and simply being outside enjoying nature.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Carolyn (Powell) Stuteville of Evansville, IN, children, Sandra Melvin (Daniel) of Arcadia, IN, John Stuteville, Jr. (Sylvia) of Evansville, IN, Kenneth Stuteville (Marcie) of Owensboro, KY, Jeff Stuteville of Boonville, IN, Julie Jenkins (Robert) of Newburgh, IN, and Maureen "Poppy" Stuteville of Evansville, IN, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would also like to thank Denise with Asera Care and Hamilton Pointe Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor James Stuteville officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 am until time of service at 1 pm Saturday at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.
