Roman 'Larry' Spiringer

Roman "Larry" Spiringer, 92, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Friday, December 28, 2012, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Larry was born in Odon, Kan., on May 29, 1920, to the late Aloysius and Christina (Beran) Spiringer. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in WWII. Larry retired from the Railroad in 1982, after 38 years of service. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, where he attended Cursillo. Larry was also a member of the Legion of Mary and St. Vincent dePaul.
Larry is survived by daughter, Dr. Rita and Dr. William Kottmeyer, of St. Louis, Mo.; son, William "Randy" and Carolyn (Feller) Skelton; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; and companion of 20 years, Anita Lear.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nadine (Crist) Spiringer in 1992; sisters, Ann Hanna Spiringer, Louise Klepper and Frances Esfeld; brothers, Joseph and Victor Spiringer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 600 Herndon Drive, Evansville, IN 47711. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit from noon until 2 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue, Evansville, IN 47711. Friends may also visit from 8:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
