Mary A. (Rapp) Guetling, age 91, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital Main Campus.
Mrs. Guetling had worked at Pine Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center and Holiday Health Care. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Ann Altar Society at the church, St. Rita's Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John and the VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving Mary are three daughters, Kimberly (Kenneth) Tieken, Carolyn Messmer and Pamela (Matthew) Wannemuehler and a son, Charles (Holly) Guetling, all of Evansville; ten grandchildren, Angela Schneider, Andrew Tieken, Deidre Barnes, Cara Mattingly, Brittny Wannemuehler, Kelsey Hillenbrand, Justin Guetling, Laura Gerhardt, Lindsey Fisher and Jacob Guetling and thirteen great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ralph Guetling in 2012; by her parents, James and Minnie (Leslie) Rapp; her son-in-law, Daniel Messmer, a sister, Marcella Smart and six brothers, Charles, Michael, John, Paul, James and Ralph Rapp.
Funeral services for Mary will begin at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Pierre Funeral Home, continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. David Nunning officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
Mary's family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Linda Daugherty for the special care and compassion given to Mary.
