Patricia Ann Waddle
Petersburg, Ind.
Patricia Ann Waddle, 63, passed away Saturday, August 23, at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis. Patricia was born April 23, 1951 in Hartford City, Ind., to Carl and Joan Swift.
She attended Ball State University where she received an undergraduate degree and went on to receive degrees from University of Evansville and Indiana University. Pat worked at Pike Central Middle School for many years where she touched many lives as a teacher and a guidance counselor. She was an active member of the Main Street Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, Ind., holding various positions within the church. She volunteered at PAWS, Somebody's Place, and Pike County Hospice in Petersburg. In Indianapolis she volunteered at the St. Vincent Cancer Center. She was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association and PSI-IOTA-XI local chapter. Being a wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and guidance counselor were the things Pat cherished most.
Pat is survived by her husband, Robert G. Waddle, of Indianapolis; parents, Carl and Joan Swift, of Hamilton, Ind.; sons, Daniel (Sarah) Waddle, of Indianapolis and Robert (Laura) Waddle, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Isaac Daniel Waddle and Audrey Jewel Waddle, of Indianapolis; brothers, Tom (Alice) Swift, of Hamilton, Ind., and Mick Swift, of Indianapolis; sister, Amy (Shad) Shrack, of Greentown, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. EST at the Main Street Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, Ind., following a private graveside service. There will be a meal provided after the memorial service for family and friends. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the St. Vincent Foundation Cancer Care Art Program at 8402 Harcourt Rd. Suite 210 in Indianapolis, IN 46268.
