Paul Rhea Graham Jr., 63, known as "Hippie" to all his friends and those who loved him, passed away May 12, 2014, at his home in Chandler, Indiana.
Paul was born October 16, 1950, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Paul Rhea Graham Sr. and Marguerite (Martin) Graham.
He graduated from Castle High School in 1969, and then he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam. After completing his military service, he married Donna Fisher. They were married twenty-one years and had five children.
Paul was a tender hearted soul who would give anything he had to help someone else. He loved his grandchildren and was loyal to his friends. He loved music, especially the Beatles, and rock and roll.
Paul was a member of Painters Local 156 and spent thirty-five years working in all areas of commercial painting for J. I. Hass Co., Inc. He started as an apprentice in l971, and retired as a foreman in 2006. He completed many training classes in safety and painting practices. He had worked on power plants, manufacturing facilities, grain facilities and many other projects in both maintenance and new construction. He was considered a very talented and valuable member of the Hass painting crews and worked his entire career without an accident.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; and his sister, Paula (Heavrin) Rhodes.
He is survived by sons, Paul Rhea Graham III, Barry Graham, Keith Graham (Wendy) and Todd Graham (Felissia); daughter, Gwendolyn Graham; grandchildren, Jacob Graham, Dakota Huffman, Bayley Graham, Kaylee Graham, Kyerra Willem, Damion Graham, Kyle Graham, Kollin Graham, Todicea Graham, Danika Graham; great-grandchild, Kamden Huffman; sister, Donna Scales (Jim); brother, David W. Graham; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Kenny and Shelly Howell, Jerry Rhodes and many of Paul's other friends for their love and support over the years to Paul. He cherished their friendships.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at Koehler Funeral Home-Perigo Chapel, 7022 Heim Road, Chandler, Ind. Friends may call Sunday 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites by the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services.
