Robert E. Addington passed to his heavenly home on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
He leaves behind his wife, Margaret (Peg); daughter, Sharyn (Ron) Lopez; son, Robert II (Stephanie); brother, Clarence C. Jr.; grandchildren, Brian (Sheryl Lopez), Audra (Matt) Roach, Sarah (Greg) Franks, Blythe (Scott) Swinger, Sean, Bryce; great-grandchild, Josephine Franks.
Bob was a retired salesman and worked for Novartis for 38 years.
He served in WWII in the Medical Corp in the European Theater where he met his future wife.
His father, Clarence Sr. and mother, Josephine (Fickas) along with his sisters, Marian Johnson and Edna Addington preceded him to Heaven.
Bob was a Past Master of Newburgh Lodge #174, past Commander of the Hadi Legion of Honor and past Commander of the Great Lakes Region of The Legion Of Honor, member of the Quental Bend in the Hadi Shrine, member of all three Evansville York Rite Bodies. He was a member of American Legion Newburgh Post #44, VFW Post #1114 Evansville and the Boonville Elks #1180 and was a Kentucky Colonel, and Scottish Rite where he was a tireless worker in the presentation of the work. Earning his MSA.
Bob sat in the Warrick County Council, like his father before him, from 2004-2008.
Bob was from the country and through out his life he never left it.
He trusted people as good unless they proved him wrong, he was ready to lend a hand when asked or when he saw a need, he always returned what he borrowed in a good or better condition, and loved his family very much.
"Well done, good and faithful servant, enter now into the joys of the Lord."
Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Koehler Funeral Home-Boonville Chapel. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery with military rites by the Warrick County Veterans Memorial Services. Friends may call Saturday 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday noon until service time at the funeral home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hadi Shrine.
