Robert Andrew "Andy" Keck Jr., 91, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at Life Care Center of the Willows in Valparaiso, IN.
He was born on November 4, 1922, to Robert Andrew Sr. and Louise (Hopkins) Keck.
Andy served in the U.S. Navy in South Pacific in World War II. He was a graduate of Indiana University where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Business. Andy was a manager at Whirlpool Corporation for 29 years. He was a lifetime and active member of First United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #5. Andy was a former member of Western Hills Country Club, Elks #277, and Mt. Vernon Civitan Club. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, and painting with watercolors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis (Deig) Keck; brother, David M. Keck.
He is survived by his daughter, Krista (Rex) Townsend, of Valparaiso, IN; brother, James H. Keck, of Racine, WI; sister-in-law, Joan Keck, of Evansville; grandchild, Brian Townsend and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at First United Methodist Church 601 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. Fred Haywood officiating and burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at First United Methodist Church 601 Main St. Mt. Vernon.
