Ronald Allen Orman, age 64, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Orman was the owner and operator of Residential Contractors. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a life member of VFW Post #1114 and American Legion Funkhouser Post #8. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ron was a very kind and gentle man and a loving husband and father.
Surviving Ron are his wife of 15 years, Ruth A. Orman; sons, Chris (Linda Dyson) Orman, of Evansville, and Thomas (Yesenia) Sparks Perdue, of Texas; daughter, Dr. Adrienne (Wayne) Fortnor, of Riverveiw, Fla.; his parents, August and Ruth Orman, of Evansville; sisters, Barb Tungate and Becky Robb, both of Evansville; two grandchildren, Carter Fortnor and Miranda Perdue; father-in-law, Dr. Harold T. Sparks, of Evansville; sister-in-law, Sharon Sparks of Wadesville and nephews, Brandon Robb, Tyler Tungate and Ryan Tungate. Also surviving are a cousin, Bridget Howard and close friends, Tim Hobgood and the Hobgood family, the Funke family, Mike Dolletzki, Mike and Cindy Crane, Michael Schmitt, Bill Stuckey, Bill Egli and Brad Taylor.
Ron was preceded in death by his brother, James Orman in 2012.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Pierre Funeral Home, continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rev. David Nunning officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service held at 4 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Edward Fox and his staff, Gentiva Hospice and all of Ron's friends who stopped by, visited and helped care for Ron during his illness.
