Shirley Ann Fleming Harris
Evansville, Ind.
Shirley Ann Fleming Harris, 79, of Evansville Ind., went to be with The Lord on Thursday, August 14, 2014.
Shirley was born in Vanderburgh County, Evansville, Ind., July 17, 1935, to the late Mildred (Powell) and Adrian Fleming Sr. She graduated from Bosse High School. Shirley formally worked at Social Bar and Evansville Country Club as a waitress for 15 years. She started working at Great Scot Bakery and eventually retired in 1996 from the Protestant Home. Shirley enjoyed all nature and liked plants and birds and always had several cats or dogs in her life. Her granddaughters will always remember her for her lovely red lipstick stored in the refrigerator, and her children for the wonderful caregiver to their grandmother, Mildred Fleming.
Shirley is survived by her children, Dennis Harris (April), New Harmony, Ind., LewAnn (Harris) Spalding (Roger), and Carol (Harris) Duncan, in Evansville, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in the death of her husband, Lewis E. Harris; sons, Randy Lee and Ronald Keith Harris.
Upon her request, Indiana University Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, School of Medicine received her remains. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to National Audubon Society, www.Audubon.org and click on donate button.
