Valeda Frances Weil

Valeda Frances (Gossman) Weil, age 90, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the VNA Plus Charlier Hospice Center.
Mrs. Weil was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the Quilter's Club at the church, St. Rita's Auxiliary, VFW Post #1114 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed cooking, canning and sewing.
Surviving Valeda are her daughter, Linda (John) Rollett; three sons, Don (Denise) Weil, Kevin (Cindy) Weil and Chris (Kim) Weil, all of Evansville; a sister, Marie Eberhart, of Louisville, Ky.; and brother, Jim Gossman, of Evansville. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Michelle (Jeff) Choate, Scott (Lee Anne) Rollett, Heather (Chris) Normand, Carrie Weil, Christine (Mike) Beyer, Michael Weil, Joe (Emily) Weil, Jim Weil, Erika Weil andKeaton Weil; and six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Hannah, Emily, Jake, Matt and Luke.
Valeda was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Lawrence J. Weil in 1989; her sister, Armella Ehrmann; and brothers, Joe Gossman and Jerry Gossman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Rev. James Blessinger officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 until 8 p.m. on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted at 5 p.m. Friends may also visit with the family from 9 .m. until service time on Saturday at Corpus Christi Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels or to VNA Plus Hospice Association.
