Wilfred Helfert, age 85, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Parkview Care Center.
Mr. Helfert had worked as an electrical supervisor for over 30 years before retiring in 1989, and was a member of the Whirlpool Management Club. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.
Surviving Wilfred are his wife of 65 years, Wanda Helfert; two daughters, Cindy (Robert) Rexing and Marian Kissel, both of Evansville; two sons, Steve (Bev) Helfert, of Evansville, and Jeff (Terri) Helfert, of Ft. Branch, Ind.; a brother, Paul (Pat) Helfert, of Evansville; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Helfert, of Evansville; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Wilfred was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Helfert; and by a son-in-law, Brian Kissel.
Funeral services for Wilfred will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Gene Backes officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
