William Bill Chuck Knight

William "Bill " "Chuck" Knight, 70, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at his home.
Bill was owner of Shamrock Tool until his retirement in 2008, he previously was a machine shop foreman at Benerson Corporation and tool room foreman at Rexam Plastics. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.
His hobbies were woodworking, gardening and working on cars. He enjoyed Notre Dame Football and Mater Dei High School.
Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carroll (Basham) Knight, one daughter, Amy (Troy) Meyer and two sons, Danny (Michelle) Knight and Darin (Marti) Knight, all of Evansville, one brother, David (Mary) Knight, six grandchildren, Aaron Knight, Jessica (Andrew) Reckelhoff, Dalton Meyer, Julia, Nolan and Ava Knight and three great grandchildren, Allison Knight, Beatrice and Peter Reckelhoff. Also surviving are a special aunt and cousin, Deloris Bruce and Joann Layman.
Services will begin at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6202 W. St. Joseph Road, Evansville, IN, Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Pierre Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. by member of St. Joseph Parish. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Mater Dei High School Turf Fund, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vanderburgh County, or VNA Hospice Home Care.
A special thanks to Rev. Eugene Schroeder and Sister Jenny Miller for their many spiritual visits and to Doctor Eric Goebel and to VNA Hospice nurses, Debbie Nannie and Rhonda Reynolds for their compassion in caring for Bill.
