Obituary

Bayly "Bud" Bartlett, 85, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at St. Philip Presbyterian Church, 745 W. Pipeline Road, Hurst 76053, with the Rev. Greg Garis officiating. He willed his body to UT Southwestern Medical Center. Memorials: The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any memorials go to the Prayer Bear Program at St. Philip Presbyterian Church in Hurst. Bud was born in Three Rivers to Richard and Kathleen Harber Bartlett. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, a Mason for over 50 years and member of the Hurst Masonic Lodge 1387, and an elder at several churches, including St. Philip Presbyterian Church of Hurst. Following his retirement as the purchasing agent for Bread, Bakery & Dairy for H.E. Butt Grocery Co., he worked as the purchasing agent for Bakery & Dairy for Smith's Foods in Utah and continued as a consultant following his retirement from Smith's. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Helen Bartlett. Survivors: Sons, Robert Bartlett (Cyndie) of Victoria and Michael (Susan) of Hurst; grandchildren, Jennifer Rudzynski (Frank), Jason Bartlett (Mandi), Heather Bartlett, Ryan Bartlett, James Bartlett and Jeremy Bartlett; Jennifer and Jason's mother, Laraine Etschman (Buzz); seven great-grandchildren; nieces, Joy Baumann (Jim) and Gaye Finnegan (Kelly); and special cousin, Julie Harber Maupin (Bill).
