Charles Jackson, 87, passed away into the Lord's loving hands Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at a hospital in Fort Worth from complications of Alzheimer's. Service: 9 a.m. Saturday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Charles G. Jackson was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Ashland, N.H., to Roland and Euphemia McDonald Jackson. Charlie, as he was known by his friends, was raised on a farm in Maine. He proudly served his country in World War II as a Navy Seabee. He attended the University of Tennessee where he graduated with a degree in transportation. He met Jeanette Mildred LaPosta in Buffalo, N.Y., and were married on April 26, 1952. They soon after moved to Fort Worth, where Charlie worked for Bell Helicopter for 38 years as the manager of the transportation department. Charlie and Jan raised three children, Charles Jr., Steven and Marianne. Charlie was active in the Hurst political community and was a member of the Planning and Zoning Committee for many years. Charlie and Jan were married for 62 years. The family would like to thank all the final caregivers who took such great care of our father during his final days, specifically Mica and Tamelle at Harrison at the Heritage, Lance, Kenzie and Casey at Harris Hospital. Survivors: His wife; three children; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Peggy Schaeffer.
